Polyus is the largest gold producer in Russia and one of the top 10 gold miners globally by ounces produced and mineral resources base. The Company has five operating mines as well as alluvial operations and several advanced development projects principally located in the Krasnoyarsk, Irkutsk and Magadan regions and in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).
Polyus’ Krasnoyarsk Business Unit (“KBU”), the Company’s largest, produces more than 75% of its total gold output. The KBU’s operating mines are all located in the Severo-Eniseysk district of the Krasnoyarsk region.
In 2017, gold production at the KBU amounted to 50 tons, an increase of 13% over the previous year, making the Krasnoyarsk regionthe undisputed leader in gold production among the regions of the Russian Federation.
Polyus became the first company from Eastern Europe and the CIS to earn membership to the International Council on Mining and Metals, an organization bringing together leading mining and metals companies, all committed to driving social, economic and environmental progress.
